Belgrade is one of the oldest capitals in Europe, and here, at the fortress, you can feel that long and rich history.  It is the only city on two big European rivers with great strategic position and that was the reason why a lot of wars were fought in and around Belgrade. Seven countries were building and changing the looks of the fort and many more controlled it during the last 2000 years.

Our tour guide with the Degree in Archaeology will meet you at the previously arranged location, and then show you the most important parts of the Belgrade fortress, while slowly explaining history of Belgrade and the region that was often seated between great powerful countries. First you will see Monument of Gratitude to France, in the park in front of the fortress. Then we will continue to the open exhibition of Military museum in front of the Clock tower as we are walking to the Upper town.  In Upper town is Roman well and Victor monument, one of the most famous symbols of Belgrade. From there we have beautiful view of the confluence of the Sava river into the Danube , and then we continue to the Lower town. Nebojša tower in the Lower town is next to the Danube and it was an old protector of the port. As we walk back to the Upper town we will pass by Chapel of Saint Petka and Rose church, previously used by the army.

We end our tour in front of a hidden café with a beautiful view of the New Belgrade.
